Agriculture has been and still is the most important economical sector, since industry does not provide much work for our inhabitants. An important part of the residents work out of town in factories and service industries. The cultivated soil is mostly unirrigated but, now the reservoir of Siurana and the new irrigation channel have considerably increased the irrigated lands. The chief crops are olive, almond and hazelnut trees. There are some plantations of carob trees, fruit trees and some vegetable gardens. As a complement to agriculture there are a few poultry and porcine farms. |
